and when has a protection scheme not been broken ;) - such a high profile release of it will have it in the crossairs of every hacker going - just to break it to see if they can :D

the elements of this protection scheme sound alot like what
"ripguard' was supposed to be not the recycled arccoss that they're selling today. heh maybe there's a patent suit to occupy your time with. then again one would wonder did macrovision infringe upon sony or did they license an outdated arccoss to save face and market share?

So they've found a balance of buggering up the disc and playability eh?

Morons. They'll never learn. This will never work just like every other attempt. DVD Fab Decrypter will be updated...AnyDVD will be updated as well. Big deal.

CPPM (Copy Protection for Pre-recorded Media) has not been broken. It protects DVD-A content. Elements of CPPM have unfortunately been taken up into AACS, the encryption system that Blu-ray and HD DVD use.

That being said, this latest DVD protection I doubt is encryption, & I suspect that it shall be circumvented, in short order.
