I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to convert an ATSC(NTSC) to DVB to that projectX can be used to fix drops in the HDTV ATSC(NTSC) stream. Currently projectX does not support ATSC(NTSC) so.... I have been looking for an app to covert the .ts but so far no luck.
Thoughts? Any apps they do this that i can't find?
Thanks

PX handles HDTV transport streams just fine.

You need to try VideoReDo Plus--it fixes transport streams that PX chokes on.

Zep, ATSC(NTSC) is not yet supported.
you're right with the ac3 prob. for someone who wants to replace 384kb 2/0 with 3/2 silence: it should be used an ac3.bin without any other 5.1 replacement frame

The ac3.bin problem above is a bug I found in the latest 90.0.4 and a seperate issue.
Anyway,
he said it would be awhile (months) before support is added
and since most USA stations are upgrading now..... 4 of my
main 6 do not work in projectX anymore.

Oh, Zep also take a look at the freeware HDTV2MPEG2--a poorly named tool for use w/ATSC ts!
I had trouble with H2M2 many months ago, so bought VRD+ which I love, but H2M2 has been revised many times and may have the functionality you need.

yeah i use it but it does not fix streams. So if you get a drop
sync goes out :(
Can VideoReDo do a dumux like projectX? or is the best way to do your edits then a fix stream command to output a full fixed copy with edits which you then run through DGindex and demux there if you want to get the ac3 out of the stream.
I have been using the trial version for just 1 day and have not tried all the options yet :)
thanks

Can VideoReDo do a dumux like projectX?Yes, in fact I use it for this in conjunction with StaxRip. Stax incorporates ProjectX, which works a lot of the time but not always, and when it errors it errors badly. So I edit my ATSC .ts files with VideoReDo Plus, then output as Elementary Streams and process the video with DGindex manually, creating a .d2v file (and .ac3 also) that StaxRip can work with.
You are right btw about HDTVtoMPEG2: the author has always referred people having problems to VRD+ (!) and I've never heard of any other tool that does what it does so there aren't many options for us!
Note VRD+ has a full-functionality trial that lasts 2 weeks, if you register your trial version. Registering costs nothing, but if you don't register it, the trial version only outputs 30minutes max. Just fyi, I was tripped by this initially as many others...

yeah that 30 minute thing got me too grrrrr
I had to e-mail them and get a trial key. The app is a little buggy also. I had it crash a few times AFTER a save as... or FIX stream at the exact same spot when that window pops up and shows the info of the stream it saved. I can make that crash happen right at that exact same spot 9 out of 10 times. Thank goodness it is AFTER the stream is saved so not a huge deal breaker as i quit out and go to DGindex at that time anyway to index and demux the ac3 out.
Anyway thanks for pointing me to this app. :)

The app is a little buggy also.Oh, my--I have used the program now dozens, no hundreds of times with many different .ts and .mpgs and it's never crashed! Must be some glitch in your setup.
Anyway you will find that DRD Systems' Support forum can help you with that.
