If this is not in the right location please let me know.
Howl's Moving Castle Trouble
I have been having trouble getting this movie into a format for my iPod. When, I decrypt with DVDdecrypter this movie is quiet confusing; because of all the cells and other items.
But, I was still able to get the .vob into pocketdivx and created a Xvid avi. Now, I did this because when I ran the original .vob through megui to make it a H.264 and Mpeg4 file it would come out with an audio sync issue with the audio coming before the video. But, when I made the Xvid file it came out totally muxed and everything lines up.
So, I need some help either from someone who has encoded this movie for the iPod or atleast to mpeg4 with no sync problems or someone who can help me take the .xvid and turn it into a mpeg4. Or maybe someone who knows a way that can calculate the time for the delay of the audio so I could sync it back up.

IDK what's with the sync problems lately. I haven't had sync issues in anything I encode. I would imagine it has to do with the steps your using to create it. could you please document the process your using in full including all apps and settings. maybe we can norrow down the problem.

you need to process the DVD with Vobblanker first. There are some unreferenced cells in there that are probably screwing up your encode.

"Howl's Moving Castle" (As do all new Disney presently) has "RipGuard" copy protection.
Although DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 CAN successfully rip such DVDs, the rip is not "clean" - and this probably accounts for your synchronization problem. Do the following:
1) Use DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 to rip in "File mode" (NOT "ISO mode") - select "ALL files" (NOT just "movie files")
2) Load the ripped DVD "package" into VOBBlanker - select a new location to output files
3) Set VOBBlanker to "Process all files"
4) Press the "Process" radiobutton
5) Use the new (From the new output location) DVD "package" as your source

I will give it a shot and tell you all how it goes. Question, when I use the new files as my source how do I put them all back together to make a full movie again?

Hi-
After having followed setarip_old's instructions, you can use PGCDemux to select the IFO for the movie and the angle you want, and then save it to a different location. You'll then have the M2V (don't forget to check the "Video" box of PGCDemux), the AC3 tracks, and the subs in SUP format. If you want to get the subs in IDX/SUB format, or want to OCR them, open the IFO in VobSub Configure or in SubRip, or whatever you usually use for subtitle processing.
That's one way anyway.

I did it, but still I ended up with an audio delay. I can't understand where it keeps going wrong.

@setarip_old
Are you sure that vobblanker will take care of everything?
Take a look here:http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=108519
You may have to scroll down a little bit to fully understand what I am saying.

i too ran into the audio sync problem. I eventually just manually synced it with options in mkv muk. Not only did the audio unsync but the subtittles as well. Anyway it wasn't that hard to manually time one scene.

Hmm... Should have moved it some time ago. Moved to 'Decrypting'. Please edit your title to something more appropriate, TheOne0908.
