Hey all,

Was wondering if anyone could help with the following:-

I have a video file which uses a codec i've never heard of before, I normally install Nimo Codec Pack and it usually sorts out any codec problems I have.

However, this latest one I have, I cannot work out what the video codec is, I have tried opening the avi in a number of different programmes and each time it says something like the following:-

Video data: FOURCC code "h264"

Would be grateful to anyone who could shed some light on the subject, or if anyone knows where I can get the right codec.

Many thanks

Steve

codecpacks, hmm be that as it may...

install ffdshow and enable under video decoder configuration -> codecs -> h.264 to libavcodec

now you have a free decoder for h.264 streams

Hi!I have a video file which uses a codec i've never heard of beforeHow did you manage to create this video file, if you don't have (let alone never heard of) the required codec?

i am perplexed as to the time and effort you continually expend on posting what can only be described as posts designed to 'bait' the in-experienced forum members into rule 6 violations.

i my opinoin this endeavour appears even more vindictive when referenced against your own words in this thread:
Proposed Forum Rules Modification (inc Rule 6 Clarification) (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=799681#post799681)
@spuddog Such questions are tantamount to entrapment - and I believe that members should be advised not to do so.
i would strongly recommend that you desist in whatever personal crusade you are on, and leave the moderating of such threads to those better qualified.
