is it able to encode 2 sets of audio simultaneously (ie ch 1+2 and 3+4 from a standard SDI interface)? or does one have to rewind the tape and go again to get the japanese audio?

also, does it have save-able 2-pass stats? that'd be reeal cool.

because if it doesn't do those 2 things, it's basically identical to the MPX3000 encoder boards, except for the need to buy scenarist to operate it.

i'm not really in the market for a hardware encoder, but my work's been looking to upgrade for a while. probably nothing will happen until we get HDTV equipment in and start doing that sort of stuff.

It allows you to encode up to 6 channels simultaneously(5.1 mixes) , the interface has 8 audio inputs that plugs itself in the SD 2000.
DVD encoding is not my line of work , i am helping the technical director selling the stuff cause the compagny i m working for does not do DVD encoding , authoring...anymore , the equipement has been stored in a room since 2002 and the staff operating it is gone.
The software is DVD creator and it s on MAC

Wish i could have been more helpful , i will keep looking.
