So I've got a pile of AVI files I'd like to make DVDs out of. Typically they're 2 or 3 video clips, and so far TMPGenc has told me they'll fit on a DVD-5 disc and everything's fine.

Only problem is, I went through the encoding process with Source Creator, and it took SEVEN hours. When all was said and done, the 4.x gig output file had no audio!

Trying it over again, I noticed that whenever I went to "edit" one of the video clips in the early stages, they had no audio there either. Just a brief PSSSSST right at the beginning.

The audio comes in perfectly fine when I play them in a video play though.

I'd really prefer to get these to work on a DVD instead of a VCD. Any ideas? :(

try demux the avi audio with virtualdub or something similar, then encode it separately. be careful with AV sync this way though - there could be an offset in the avi file that isn't maintained when the audio is stripped out. should be fine though.

Hi!

What is/are the format(s), frequency, sampling rate(s) of the audiostream(s) in your original .AVI(s) that you created?
