Wasn't sure whre to post this.
I have a HDTV clip but when I play it on one machine it causes a BSOD complaining about NV4_DISP. If I play it on another the players either lockup or I just get sound but no video. I can play the HD clips from MS site fine. The problem is this is WMV3 inside an AVI with AC3 sound.
I tried renaming the AVI to WMV but this does not help. I don't get why I cannot play this clip. I am able to demux the video portion in VDub then rename to .WMV but it retains the AVI headers and thus WMPlayer complains about it. I did this because i wanted to test just the video portion.
Any ideas?
EDIT: OK I tested said clip using same PC using an old PCI Matrox Mystique card and it played back fine. I think it has something to do with the Nvidia 6600GT drivers or DirectX
