Hi

What is the correct syntax for encoding 448kbs AC3 to 5.1ch wav.

I want to rencode the wav to 384kbs AC3, but Azid 1.9 has the deafult parameter -L -3db which downmix LFE into LR.

How can I cancel this parameter?

Second, Does Azid mix the channel order, so there is a need to rearange it , by channel mapping with wavewizard?

Thanks:confused:

This what I get from Azid, with the syntax:
azid -p 6ch -c normal --maximize 1.ac3 1.wav

If I understand it correctly than the channel order was mixed up from: FL C FR SL SR LFE to FL FR SL SR C LFE

So I'll need to rearange it with wavewizard.

Is it currect and if so is there away to control the channel order with Azid?

From azid.txt (doc for azid):

"-p 6ch. This setting will produce a 6 channel output, 3/2+lfe. The command prompt equivalent is: -d3/2 -L0 -l1 -ol,r,sl,sr,c,lfe"

Then instead -p 6ch you can use:
-d3/2 -L0 -l1 -ol,r,c,lfe,sl,sr
if you want a correct ordered wav, or
-d3/2 -L0 -l1 -ol,c,r,sl,sr,lfe
if you want a wav reordered for use like input for SoftEncode, Headac3he, ffmpeg, and others free ac3 encoders.

Hi mate! I tested the second way out and it worked with the aften free AC3 encoder. The channels order was kept after the conversion with aften. One question: which would be the option to used with azid.dll BeSweet's plugin to provide the same ordered 6 channels wave in order to be used as input in aften?

topic covering aften here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=847746#post847746

Sorry, but azid.dll for BeSweet don't have the same parameters than azid.exe. AFAIK there aren't a -o equivalent option for azid.dll.

You can use WaveWizard (channelmaping preset "ac3 order for SoftEncode or ac3enc") to re-order the BeSweet output wav for use with aften.
