any idea when DVD RB will be able to run CCE 2.70 minimized even when it's checked to run minimized in the GUI & the "Enable MInimized"=1 is in the ini? I see a lot of users reporting the same issue. I just switched from using CCE 2.67 & it ran properly. However, nothing I try can get ver 2.70 to run minimized when it is encoding.:confused:

I have problems with 2.67. It runs minimized but steals focus from games etc. Anyone know of a work around?

This isn't related to DVD Rebuilder at all. It is an attribute of CCE SP v2.70 Trial. The change would have to be implemented by Cinemacraft.

If it is checked, DVD Rebuilder is already telling the process to run minimized -- it just refuses.

sorry jdobbs didn't mean to imply it was dvdrb's fault, just though dvdrb'ers would be the best people to ask if there was a fix/workaround of this annoyance of cce. I can't remember having this problem before and I haven't changed anything out of the normal with my latest reinstall, Just wondered if there was something I missed.

No problem from my end... Just FYI, it can be even worse if "Minimize encoder" isn't checked, some trial versions will stop and wait for a button click...

Version 2.67 co-operates with EclCCE and if my memory serves me right it gives this useful option to ran CCE minimized on tray... but EclCCE doesn't co-operate with newer version of CCE anymore :( it is rather a pity. But it could be worse as jdobbs said. We should be grateful that we don't have to click every single segment change... ufff ;)

I do two things -- one is to run DVDRB in low priority using a batch file with "start /low (path to rb)".

Then, use XP's fast user switching capability. Create a login in your machine and install RB from that login. To RB a movie, start it under the alternate login, then do a "start / log out / switch user" to your normal login and RB is out of sight and working in the background.

@MuttLover

What can I say - :thanks:
Sometimes the simpliest things are invisible for my eyes. I've not hit on this idea. Very helpful advice :goodpost:

found a work around for my win2003 system at least. I use a utility called "Power menu" to minimize any task bar app to the system tray and this seems to be causing the problem. As long as I leave Rb in the taskbar and combine with using "Windows Powertoys" prevent apps stealing focus option it works in the background without nterupting me. I don't know why it no longer behaves when minimzed to the tray but at least I can play games uninterupted now.
