Howdy yall. I am now the proud owner of a dualcore athlon 3800 and have loaded up Windows XP x64

And while i can now encode 640x352 xvid with all the quality settings at about 18fps, i have just experienced what will prolly be the 1st of many little headaches that i like most other "early adopters" will have to endure in these early days.

I can't get Vobsub to run.

I 1st noticed the problem when Robot4Rip told me it couldn't find a subtitle to compress. So I tried it manually.

I run "Vobsub Configure" from the start menu and get the message.

RUNDLL
Error loading vobsub.dll
The specified module could not be found.

So i found the vobsub.dll, (in the C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64 folder) and COPIED it to c:\windows\system32.

Now i get his error message

RUNDLL
Error loading vobsub.dll
%1 is not a valid Win32 application.

Any suggestions?

system32 is the folder for 64 bit dlls, put vobsub back to SysWOW64 which is the folder for old 32 bit dlls :) You will find a 32 bit rundll32.exe there too. Don't know about the rest of the problems, the installer or shortcut path is probably wrong.

to make the vobsub configure to work at x64 u have to change the path of VobSub Configure Shortcut by going into the properties:

before:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe vobsub.dll,Configure

make it:
C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\rundll32.exe vobsub.dll,Configure

solved ?
