What's the title of the movie, and the region. You may just have a bad DVD. You might also consider reinstalling Decrypter, as it may have become corrupt.

No, but that's irrelevant since you haven't even gotten to the decrypting stage. Try a different disk, or a different drive, or rebooting, or as suggested reinstalling DVD Decrypter.

OK Sinful, here's the problem. There should be 6 items across the top of the selection bar, you only have 5. You're missing the Edit header. Uninstall Decrypter, and reinstall. That will clear up your problem.

Corrupt programs can be a pain to track down.

A second point. It may also be necessary to into Device Manger, and uninstall the DVD-rom, and ATA controller for same. On occassion, the program can mess with these, as well. Reboot, and all will be reinstalled!

is it just me or does that screenshot show DVDdecrypter in "write ISO" mode? if that's the case than it's not surprising that you're unable to rip :)

of course you could cycle the disc tray a few times. sometimes that can do it.

sony = bad reputation. though all their drives for the last couple years have been made by lite-on, there's still oddities with them, especially on -R media (as opposed to +R which they do fine). of course that's the situation as of a year ago, so things probably have changed for the better. i haven't touched a sony drive in that time, not counting standalones (which have been known to baulk at certain pressed discs that weren't pressed by sony... annoying as hell).

[edit]

@ VWRacer:

that's normal behaviour for ISO rip/burn modes in decrypter. no problem there.

I stand corrected on the 5 items on the top header bar. I was able to create the same situtation as the OP, and reinstalling Decrypter, the drive and controller, corrected the problem. I wish the OP would update us on her progress.

Apparently, when Decrypter is corrupt, it will cancel the drive. Very strange..........
