Making a DVD

I have downloaded my home vids onto the computer from my panasonic cam corder and now i want to make a dvd.

Question is i am a newbie and was wondering which programs people would recommend to build a dvd.

What i want to do is to create a menue and maybe put a picture background and some music to it.

Have you looked at the Doom9 guides?

Personally, I use Hank or TMPGE MPEG2 encoder, and TMPGE DVD Author.

2) What is the format of the captured video?

3) What software/codecs/audio and video settings did you use for capturing?
