Hey, this is my first post and I think I have come to the right place.

I have a 642/37 player experiencings some color issues. Skin tones and other colors are blue or a blue HUE. I tried messing with the color properties but it didnt fix anything.

The player is 642/37 with v0603 installed.
First time experiencing any problems.

Video proporties...

File : 336 MB (336 MB), duration: 0:57:36, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 41 %
Video : 284 MB, 689 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 512*408 (4:3), DIVX = OpenDivx v4, Supported

and

File : 345 MB (345 MB), duration: 0:47:31, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 43 %
Video : 301 MB, 887 Kbps, 24.999 fps, 512*408 (4:3), DX50 = DivXNetworks Divx v5, Supported

AND NOW.... *drum roll* my question!

after reading I discovered that OpenDvix4 or DX50 is not supported by the player ... can I change the fourCC of the movies and reburn the disc, to prevent recoding the whole lot of movies? If not, what steps would you recommend I take to make these play on my so extra spiffy Philips player :D

:thanks:

p.s. Im a complete DiVX n00b & and if your curious to what im burning its seasons 1-5 of the sopranos

Hi!

DX50 codec (and FourCC) should play properly in a 642/37. Perhaps there's something wrong with the firmware version you've installed...

I tried it with the original firmware ... 1223 and it was the exact same playback.

Im not sure what to think.

I have no such problem with my 642/37. It has its original 1109 firmware...

Hmm I had this problem. It was due to me not changing my video setup on the player from SVideo to Component. Once I did that the colors came back to normal.

It only happens occasionally, but I'm having the very same problem right now. Yes, I've tried different firmware versions on my 642/37, and yes, I've changed the video setup, all to no effect. Edit: those files do play okay on my computer, however blue the skin tones on my 642/37.

The only success I have had was when I changed the size of the output file, increasing it by 20-25% or more. Why that made a difference I have no idea.

I had problems with files that were originally 544x480 with autogk. Ended up setting width to 640 to get rid of blue faces.
