I recently had to format my HDD, and so I installed AutoGordianKnot.2.27.Setup, and DVD Decrypter.

I ripped and encoded a DVD, and noticed the video was off center and cropped, kinda in the right area. Everything was set to default, except I set the file size to 700mb, instead of 2x700mb.

Where is your logfile? That's the only way to tell what happened.

I just got done with ripping and encoding it again. Same results

I have all the other tests, log files, scripts...if you want those posted too.

Stream ripping only these 2, with default options/settings:

0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x480 (NTSC) / 4:3 / LBA: 1 / PTS: 00:00:00.045 / Delay: 0ms
0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 7 / PTS: 00:00:00.045 / Delay: 0ms

Encoding to 700mb, all defaults:

I am trying another DVD, the preview looked just fine. Here goes nothing. basicly same settings as before.

Everyting went great with movie #2 ... odd?

There must be an issue with a portion of the video it's testing for autocrop - you can simply turn it off or adjust it manually in hidden options.

How do I open the hidden options? ... I googled it CTRL+F9

I'll also try it again w/o the 1st chapter, its just a 2.5min lil intro movie, and see if that works.

I fiddled around with hidden settings..the preview looks perfect, cross fingers on full encode.

Hi,

If the preview is Ok, chances are really good for the encode, you may realease your fingers. :)
If no good try:
- Input a starting frame after the problematic frames
- Input Increasing the number of frames to examine
or mix of both.

Good luck

Everything went great, I just manually cropped the vid.

Big thanks to CWR03 for telling me about Hidden Options.
