My problem is this. I make backups using dvddecrypter and dvdshrink using a sony dru530a internal burner. I only use memorex dvd+rs. For playback I have an old panasonic 5disc changer, an xbox, and a new samsung hometheater w/ a built in dvd player. The xbox won't read any burned movies. The samsung used to read backups but hasn't been able to read the last several. the panasonic is about 7years old. It plays any backup like a champ, but about two years ago it stopped playing originals. Also, both the panasonic and the samsung are dts compatible, and they are connected with a fiber optic cable, but I cannot get sound out of backups with a dts audio track. Can anyone enlighten me as to what might be going on? This seems so much more complicated than it should be. My apologies if this is in the wrong forum section. thanks.

Hi!Also, both the panasonic and the samsung are dts compatible, and they are connected with a fiber optic cable, but I cannot get sound out of backups with a dts audio track. Can anyone enlighten me as to what might be going on?the fact that your players are DTS compatible does not mean that the audio system it is connected to is DTS-capable...
