I am new to this so could someone explain to me the simplest and detailed way to use dvd decrypter. I understand how to decrypt the dvd but what do I do with it after that. I had been using dvd shrink but encountered a problem with one of my dvd's that it wouldn't back up. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the patience.

The development of decrypter has stopped, so It doesn't support the newest protections. Use DVDFab decrypter. It will also eliminate the problem you have with DVDshrink. Try backing up your DVDs with shrinkto5 but watch out for ad-aware.

since you have dvd decrypter and shrink get the pgcedit plugin program it works with dvd decrypter and shrink plus it has other programs to clean up your dvds before you back them up. hope this helps... phil

its the same title as in the other post its Chicken Little its region 1 that I purchased myself. I also had a problem with another Disney movie backing it up. Basically all I know how to do is go to dvd shrink click on open disc and hit ok while it encodes it. Then I click on the title of the movie and click BACKUP. I am so very new to this and I want to learn so please try and be patient with me.

"Chicken Little" is a "RipGuard"-copy protected DVD. It can be properly dealt with as follows:

1) Rip with DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 (NOT DVDFab Decrypter)

2) Load the VIDEO_TS.IFO of the rip into VOBBlanker (and set a new output file location)

3) Set VOBBlanker to "Process all" - and then press the "Process" radiobutton.

4) The DVD "package" of files (.IFOs, .BUPs, .VOBs) created by VOBBLanker (in the new output location) will be accepted for processing by DVD Shrink...

is this vobblanker freeware and if so, where might I find it. Also, I have another quick question. Once I've ripped with decrypter how do I find the files that I need to load and is this a very hard process? Like I said earlier, I'm like talking to a twelve year old right now. lol Sorry

Yes it is - see link in my signature.

The files will be in a folder on your HD. In DVD Decrypter, you will see the output location.

Heres my next question. Once I decrypt it through dvd decrypter, what do I do then. I tried to burn it but it said it was too big. Now I understand this is where I run it through dvd shrink, but how (in dvd shrink) do I do that. Do I open file and find it, because I can't seem to find what I just decrypted. I am so new to this I am about to give up. I don't understand how you get it to pull up on dvd shrink to make the back up, does the original need to be in the drive still or just the blank dvd or what. Any ideas would help thanks

I have almost all of this done but I can't figure out how to find the "package" of files. They are where I set them to go but dvd shrink keeps coming up with an error saying that they can't be recognized. Any thought?

make sure the destination folder you directed Shrink to doesn't have another folder inside it. Some programs do that. If so, direct Shrink to the folder inside the destination folder.

@dvon76:
May be you are interested only in free tools to get rid of that protections, which I find very good... but take a look of AnyDVD, it really worth the money.
Greetings! :)
