Hello

I want to convert 5.1 ac3 to 2ch mp3. I'm using Azid to convert ac3 to wav, and lame to convert wav to mp3.

What is the preferred method using azid? should I choose to convert using -s stereo or -s dpl \ dplii?

Second is there any program that can use azid + lame in vbr-new mode? I tried belight + besweet but I couldn't use the vbr-new mode, it's insist using CBR.

Thanks

For 5.1ch->2ch downmixing, I think DPL II is the way to go.

You could edit the commandline manually in BeLight (and you probably should use the LAME v3.97b2 dll as well unless it doesn't work with BeSweet).

Thanks

Do you know why besweet produce bigger files when converting wav to mp3 (20% bigger) , than when using lame manualy?

The settings/presets are probably not the same between the two.

Hi,

May be related to this post: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=806465#post806465

If so Boulder is right, the settings are not the same and applies for besweet and belight. If not please discard but thanks for feedback.
