Hello to all!
I own a DVD with a PAL movie and I want to generate a NTSC-SVCD disc to fit into one CD-R. I decided to reencode the video file back to the original 23.976fps (hollywood title), since my player allows SVCD w/23.976 fps (not compliant, I know, but the player does that).
If I play them with Media Player Classic, I get perfect synchronization (video file "m2v", dubbing with the audio file "mp2"). Shouldnīt be a problem, since video and audio files have approx. the same lenght.
The problem is when I mux the files with TMPGEnc (MPEG Tools - Simple Mux - SVCD): the audio file turns shorter. For a 2h13min movie, audio gets approx. 5 seconds earlier. You wonīt notice it at the first minutes of movie, but after 40 minutes itīs quite annoying hearing dialogues and sound effects before they happen.
Iīve done this before with a 23.976 movie (I didnīt have to change the lenght of the audio neither the video) and I didnīt got any troubles... so I ask: Am I missing something while doing the PAL-NTSC conversion?
Hardware used: Pentium IV, 1,8GHz, 512MB dual channel, Windows 2k, on-board audio processing, n-vidia FX-5200 video card w/128MB.
Software used: MEncoder (for re-encoding the video file), BeLight (for re-encoding the audio file), TMPGEnc (for muxing to SVCD), Nero (for burning the media).
Video Settings: MPEG-2 codec, 625kbps VBR, max bitrate of 2200. Audio settings: MPEG-I layer II 128kbps, "Convert 25000 to 23976 fps" option checked.
I appreciate any suggestion.
Thank you very much,
TheCreamCrackerBoy.
