i am tring to make a DVD-A with sonic DVD-Audio Creator. does anyone know what this file is SFF.XML. i use the Import Audio function. and it outputs these files (xxxx.Raw, xxxx.tki, xxxx.xml) the program has these options (Author, Command Editor, Format, Imager, Import Audio, Import Menu, and Import VIDEO_TS). is there a program to make SSF.xml. If there is a better from for this info please post back.

Hello malkalm!First of all, create a project folder and subfolders named Audio, Build, Elem, Img, Tiff, Vob, Menu.
Import Audio is only for import tracks into the project.

Then you need to create menu (e.g.AAA.tif), highlight pics (AAA_HL.tif) and button pics (AAA_BTN.tif) anywhere (e.g. in Photoshop).

THen you need to import menu in Import Menu application. Choose Menu folder as destination.

Then go to Author and create a project structure (drag and drop icons).

Then run "Publish". Destination should be a directory Build. Here you will get SFF.xml.

Then go to Command Editor and edit SSF.xml. Here you can set button actions, commands ets. But you HAVE to know scenario script (like Scenarist uses).

THen go to Format and create Audio_TS.

Then burn Audio_TS with Gear Mastering Pro 6 or later. This is the only simple way to burn disc correctly without special SCSI DVD-RW drive.
There is another way to burn the project in any burning software, but it's tricky. You may get standard ISO image if you merge files binary accordingly to layout.fmp file. But you have to verify that sector layout is ok.

Hope this helps....

PS: Import VIDEO_TS is necessary only if you want to make hybrid DVD-A/DVD-V project. It's really difficult, forget about it at least for the first time.

PPS: DVD-A Creator is extremely powerfull tool for DVD-A creation, but it's soooooo complicated....

Oh, sorry, I didn't tell you that you should use SinglePageMenu during menu import. Multipage menu doesn't work.

TIFF file should be 720x480, RGB, 8bit/channel, noncompressed.

PS: I would recomend you to make a simle project without menu, with 1-2 groups / 3-5 tracks per group to understand the Sonic's workflow! Also keep in mind that you cannot write disc from Sonic directly! You need to use Gear Mastering Pro or to use a trick I've described before.

now i get this error..

I think you are making button TIFF file uncorrectrly. You can use only four colors - red (R255), blue(B255), black(R0G0B0) and white(R255, G255, B255). No halftones, no other colors! Read Sonic Scenarist instructions on how-to-make-buttons.

when i use the image program i get the error "output RawHDD p[403] device not ready" can i write an image to the HD with out scsi burner or HD. i tried the optin "layer 0 to HD. i am going to try buring the AUDIO_TS with nero. is it going to work? is there water marks. thanks for the help if you know anywhere to get more info please help this is all new to me.

If you have no compatible SCSI devices don't touch Imager at all! You can do nothing with it.

About Nero. You cannot burn AUDIO_TS with current version of Nero. Such disc will not be true DVD-A so forget about it.

when i use Gear Pro Mastering 7.1 and try to make a dvd-a it ask to import the AUDIO_TS folder then i get this error "file DVDAUDIO.MKB could not be loaded. not enough free sectors available do you want to increase the volume size from 510 to 928 minutes" what seeting do i need to set in Gear Pro Mastering. and sonic dvd-a

Wau! Are you making copy-protected DVD-A? No? Then you need to set "Copy protection=Freely" for your Album in Command Editor!

With Gear Pro Mastering you can burn disc correctly. But it should be unprotected.
