K, I noticed that I got a coupla audio tracks in a movie, wouldnt it be great that when you loaded the movie into dvd2svcd you can listen to the audiotracks, so you can make your selection?
I had it once that the wrong audio track got selected and a feature like that would definately give less of a burden to find the right audio track then...
just a thought though.. :D

I keep FlasK around to achieve this. FlasK has an audio player. And I believe the order of audio streams in FlasK and in dvd2svcd are the same (I *know* the order in FlasK and in dvd2avi are the same).

This is from smartripper (pearl harbor).....perhaps if in the dvd2svcdlog.txt if it'd show the stream# then it'd be easier to choose which audio streams.

Stream[002] X=[[0x80] Audio English AC3(6Ch) 48kHz Normal Caption] [] [] [] []

This would be a nice feature to add in a future release.

I would like to see a 'internal ripping' that includes the IFO file so that I can rip a DVD then come back and do the conversion later (without the DVD handy or using Smart.. to rip the one little file needed). Thanx for the great proogy at any rate though!!!:D

Another idea which would be nice now that we have the batch encode would be a checkbox to delete everything from the choosen folder accept for the .cue .bin files upon the successful completion of a backup. Therefore you could do 3 or 4 unattended encodes at once without the need for a massive amount of free space. The disk space would actually increase as the process continued because the original rip would be removed along with everything else, leaving a couple of .bin files in its place.
Therefore in the case of say 3 rips you would have used up maybe 12 - 15Gb of space for the rips and leave another 10Gb free for the first encode. By the time the 3 batch encodes had finished you would have
21Gb free and 6 cue bins ready to burn.
I'm guessing that this could probably be done by adding lines to the batch file in between the project launch instructions but I can't think of a suitable syntax off the top of my head that would leave the .cue .bins alone and also it would be v risky because you would be deleating the stuff assuming, but not knowing, that the encode had been successful unless you could use dos commands to check for the existance of the .cue .bins and assume this indicated successful completion.
Equilibrium
P.S. I know you can choose not to save the files generated by D2S as you go through the process but this wouldn't remove the original rip and would still require a larger amount of initial free space because you would need space for the 3 rips plus the 6 - 9 .cue .bins that would be generated.
Just an idea, you have my permission to redicule me if you think it's cr*p. :)
P.P.S. As this is the best thing I can think of, I think it is a shining example of just how fantastic this utility is now, because this is really scraping the barrel of laziness :D

well tazman i might be misunderstanding you but if i'm reading you correctly then the feature is already in dvd2svcd where you can ripp your dvd, then come back later and convert the ripped files and make them in to the svcd or vcd ect.

That is probably so but I don't get a IFO file on a rip!! I would like an IFO file so I can get the chapters, etc!!! Might be my version but I do not know as I have never tried that before (I always went straight from dvd to the conversion)
Yhanx for the fast response guys!!!
and Kudos to N.B. and DVD2SVCD
and all else who make this possible!!!
