I have some 1080i material that I would like to encode to DVD. As I live in PAL-country I'am new to this pulldown stuff.

Source video is 29,97fps. DGIndex reports that 97% of the video is film and rest is video. When I use force film and play the resulting 23,976 d2v there is occasional fast moving scenes with combined fields. Most of the time video looks ok. I assume the video is some kind of hybrid-clip. So I should use honour pulldown flags -setting?

And what settings should I use in CCE with pulldowned 29,97fps source to get a video that is properly inverse telecined in my DVD-player.

the conventional wisdom is at 97 %, you generally take the hit and go with forced film and live with the yuckie parts. if that is unacceptable you can use honor flags and encode at 29.97 and you end up with hard telecining most of the film. you waste bitrate and make it rough if your output will be on a progressive display.
