I have installed the software bundle, 1.04. On completion of audio conversion the bundle begins to convert the pictures. The following message appears, which halts the process.:( "An exception error has occured in the image.dll. we recommend to exit the application and to restart it by clicking its icon."
Pressing ok just takes it to the next picture and the same happens!"!! Any Ideas???

Also, whilst reading the forums, i have noticed that people have stated that increasing the ram in your machine speeds up the process. One person stated how the svcd creation time was reduced to five and a half hours. I have an athlon 1ghz processor and now have 512mb ram, yet the entire process is still taking 37 hours. any idea's.

Lots of people are reading this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please, please, please, give me some idea's.
There are lots of you that can help, so please do!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!

Post your DVD2SVCD log file. Something is definately wrong.
Did you shut off audio downsampling? That can save a few hours and if you play it on your computer or DVD player is no needed.
It still shouldn't take 37 hours though.
On my old P3 750 I could do an enitire encode in less then 20 hours.
What is CCE showing as your encode speed?

You need to cut and past the log file.
.70 CCE speed is not that bad.
My P3 750 would average .5 for a CCE encode.
Drop the number of VBR passes from 5 to 3.
That will drop about 30% off the encode time.
Shut off Audio Downsampling.

That is only 11 hours and that is not that bad at all.

To speed up a little go to the audio tab and select the drop down that says Ultrahigh currently. One of the selections is NONE. Use NONE, if you are using a DVD player or your computer to view the finished product. Keep it at Ultrahigh if you are using a stand alone SVCD player.

This will save about 30 minutes to an hour or more of audio encode time.

My P3 750 could take up to 20 hours to do an encode.
I say your speed is Normal.

The 36 hours, have been for most movies copied over 2 hours in length! The log i used was for a movie only just over an hour long. Since then i have totally reconfigured my computer and am now achieving better times. Cheers to all...

Thanks mark for the advice about the audio, i will try that next time i encode. Many thanks again for all the help!!!

Still have the converting pictures problem though!!!!! Cannot call this a go to sleep and it does it for you program if it stops in the middle and waits for me to click on ok.
Has anyone got any ideas on how to solve this little gem.

Cheers

Brian
