so i've been playing around with megui the last few days and was wondering about ipod encoding.
i did do some search for the word 'green' and couldn't find a relevant topic.
i did find that x264 will crash on some fps, but i dont have that issue.
here's mine.
i encode with the xvid coded in megui using the ipod profile set to a bitrate of 384 (suprisingly enough looks very clean). im testing the x264 one right now, but with xvid the movie plays in quicktime but choppy (playback 8fps when movie info shows 28.978) and on my ipod the video plays but skipping with random green squares occupying more than half of the screen. the ipod looks perfect when i fast forward or rewind.
kind of seems like itd be a fps issue since it looks fine when fastforward or rewinded. but megui outputs no errors nor does it crash.
edit: tested with the x264 codec. while it does play fine in quicktime now, i can't upload it to my ipod. also, i would prefer to use xvid since it encodes at about 30fps whereas x264 encodes at about 6-7 for me. :(
also, sorry if this is in the wrong section. kind of hard to differentiate between container and gui when you use both.
