Hello,

I am going to rent some movies and I'd like to copy them to myself so I can re-watch it. I'm kind of a noob on this ripping and burning stuff, so I'd ask you what is the best way to rip and burn DVDs.
First of all, should I create an image file from the original DVD or make a direct copy? I'm not even sure if this works because I believe some movies have protections and such.
Secondly, what do you recommend me, DVD+R or -R? I don't know which one is the best for movies and its difference. I usually use +R TDK DVDs to burn anime.
Third, since I want the exact same image quality, I'd ask you what is the best program to rip. I have done some in the past with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter and they seemed OK.

I think that is all for now, thanks in advance. :)

Renting DVDs to copy them is not fair use backup and so rule 6 applies. We won't help you to copy rented DVDs. Asking for the best way to rip violates rule 12.

Please read and follow forum rules. Thank you.

So that's where the rules were. Please accept my apologies. :thanks:
