I ripped the subtitles to SRT format usually which is nothing but plain text!

Then as i heard the features of .ASS format !

I switched to .ASS but I didnt see any difference though? Like .. I use Aegisub! I dont even know. What to do with it ?

Can anybody explain about the features of Advanced Substation Alpha Subtitles:)

Double click on aegisub.chm in your aegisub filter and read the documentation.

ssa/ass is also plain text, btw.

I recently purchased a MV-500U media player. I ripped a movie using AutoGK 1.95 and output an .avi, .sub, and .idx files. I saved the whole set in one folder. However, I could not play back the subtiles while viewing the movie with this new toy. It does work when the subtiles file is in .srt (text based) format. Can anyone help me with how to create .srt file? Which tool is available out there? Can I convert .sub file to .srt file? Many thanks inadvance!
