There was silent update. http://download.divx.com/divx/DivXCreate.exe
I noticed MPEG quantization now works fine and it looks better than H.263 Optmizied at middle/high bitrate on some videos.
Quality is good for ASP.
I'm playing around shape and mask pscycovisual enchasement.
What future improvements and enchasements are possible?

I tried your download and there doesn't seem to be an update. no change in any of parts of the divx codec. still 6.1.1

Maybe it's a bugfix and new comilatiom version.
It's build 1828 (Divx 6.1.1.3) and I don't remember what build was 6.1.1 . But anyway there weren't big changes yet.

It is bit-to-bit identical to the first 6.1.1 version...

The only obvious change is it now includes the Divx Web Player. The divx codec is still version 6.1.1 build 1031, same build as the codec in the 6.1.1 create bundle.

Hey, just to clear it up, WeaponX is right, the bundle has changed to include the Web Player, but the codec itself has not been changed.
The about box for the codec (and the file version number for the encoder and decoder) will always give the codec version.

This (http://labs.divx.com/archives/000068.html), however, is new ;)

Does dvix6 work with older versions like dvix5 and div3 low motion? I have 6.11 installed but I can't seem to open other dvix files in vdubmod.
Hmm, I realize it only happens to some files. I was able to open another DivX 5 file, but not other ones. I looked at mediainfo and the codec used was identical. I also looked at GSpot and the only difference is the one that works is dx50/divx and the one that doesn't is just dx50. When I try to open the one that doesn't workin vdubmod, I get the following error:
One of the video codecs installed in the system modified the video format passed to it by VirtualDub. This indicates a codec bug that may cause the Windows video codec system to malfunction
Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DX50'(unknown).
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows(VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this video.

Hi galapogos,
I'm aware of one 6.1.1 decoder issue with some very old DivX 5.0 material. We will be correcting this very soon with the 6.2 version. Look out for further betas and information on DivX Labs over the comming days.

Thanks, but may I know why it works for some divx 5.0 videos but not others? Also, what about problems with div3 videos?
