Does anyone know the correct code to get the version page up on the Peekton 6006, the code that should work (setup 1 3 7 9) is not working.

Any help appreciated TIA. :)

Hi,

I don't (yet) own that SAP but with a google search I got 2 infos:
1/ it is factory multizones

2/If not, you have to:
OPEN the tray
Press SETUP
Type 1_3_7_9

You should get the same screen as here: http://forum.surdvd.com/viewtopic.php?p=204365&sid=b641f5d2df6dd2c88f3ecb939f8f3f23 Post n° 5
and if your region code is not 0 (zero) type 0

Thanks for the reply BigDid, but I found the code by trial and error, it is 1-3-8-9 for the firmware that mine came with, it appears to be a much later firmware than the one shown in your link, it gives...

Version 20.05.12.24
Sub version 08.04.00.21
8032 05.00.06.00
servo 23.67.00.00
RISC 05.00.06.00
DSP 08.96.00.29

Thanks again. :)

Slightly off topic but have you been able to upgrade the firmware on your peekton?

I have the same f/w as you and I have the non-HDMI version of the player but when I burn the cd with the firmware update the player just gives me an Unknown Disc error.

Someone on a french forum reported a similar thing but I can't work out if any of them fixed it because I can't read french :)

Hi,

Just received mine. Even if I don't want (yet) to update the firmware, I am willing to help you, at least to translate. Any link for the french forum?

Went to the surdvd forum, pretty active for the 6006. It is said for update the Disc (CD) must be named "MEDIATEK" and the file "MTK.BIN". If no good it may be that having the very last official fimware you cannot updgrade or downgrade :(
If you want to try a non official firmware, there are also some links for that at your own risk :) :(

Well, my french isn't great but this thread seems to indicate that the firmware in question is newer than the one they've posted on their site which is the reason for the inability to upgrade:

http://forum.surdvd.com/viewtopic.php?t=44945

Is that true? I'm perfectly happy if that's the case :)

Exactly, one of the last posts says:
"NON pas de MAJ a faire....
ton firmware ds la 6006 est le tout dernier...!!! il n'est pas encore sur le site !
donc ..NO TOUCH )
en fait celui que tu as serais la V3! voili"

Partial translation: "the firmware is the very last, not yet on the official page, so.. NO TOUCH
The one you have should be revV3"
There is absolutely no translation for voili :) because the right spelling is "voilą" which means something like that's it :D

The firmware I have is the latest. If you have the same firmware then you don't need the 6006v2 from the Peekton site. :)

PS What do you think of the 6006? I think it's a brilliant player. :)

EDIT: The pdf included with the v2 firmware has now been updated on the peekton site. :)
