I also noticed that the latest celtic build of of MPlayer/MEncoder is broken :(

Try the latest one from this site:

Another crash that I can't reproduce. Next compile I will leave SSE/SSE2 disabled for all CPU's other than AMD64. Maybe that will help?

afaik the ffmpeg wma decoder is buggy, try adding -afm dmo to the cli, this will switch to the wma dmo decoder.

The latest K7 build by Gianluigi Tiesi works fine for me (AthlonXP, 32-Bit WinXP)

MEncoder Sherpya-MinGW-20060312-4.1.0 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
CPU: Advanced Micro Devices Sempron/Athlon MP/XP/XP-M Barton,Thorton
CPUflags: Type: 6 MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 1 3DNow2: 1 SSE: 0 SSE2: 0
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 3DNow 3DNowEx

Gianluigi Tiesi:
the only difference would be [B]sse but it's not usable on windows due to lack of memalign function, sse code should be 16 byte aligned or it will crash.

No crashes here, including when I tried the XP build.

That is why I enabled SSE/SSE2. I tried to get it to crash, but couldn't.

Next XP build will have SSE disabled.

Good work. New build seems to be fine again :thanks:

One question: Is there a way to check which revision of x264 is used in MEncoder ???

Pretty sure that it displays it somewhere when you encode with it. The last build contains rev468 anyway.

or not. Maybe it is XviD that displays version info?

Seems like x264 does't output the info. Must be XviD then...

Does mencoder's x264 write the version & command line to the header, like x264 cli?

I just checked that in the Hex-Editor and the answer is: Yes :)
