Hello people,
I have a strange problem with dvd2avi... I wants to create only a project file (*.d2v) with dvd2avi to provide a pseudo avi with vfapi. If I load vobs into dvd2avi and with the sliding control forward-wind all is ok, I also can start the preview with F5 and see the film... if I wants to save the project I cant see the film... the picture remains black...but the file (*.d2v) is ok...I mean I can load into vfapi without an error...I also can create the pseudo avi but this is also just black (no picture) and some "shit" at the lower edge...the time of the avi is correct (!!!) but no piucture  . It happens to me since I have installed XP. With 2k all was fine...no problems. I dont make that for the first time, I have made already some films with dvd2avi, vfapi and nandub. I tried different films, tried all versions of dvd2avi, any ripper but nothing helps :(
I dont know what to do...the vfapi reader codec is also installed...I am really confused.

Just one more example that installing Win XP is not good idea...
Maybe only in case that you have other OS on machine too. So you can marvel how nice is WinXP and work in old OS :p .

Hello,

I've the same problem with Windows 2000 : I can see the film in preview mode, but when I try to save project, the screen is black and statistics show only audio encoding.

Someone can I help me too, please ?

there's nothing wrong with dvd2avi here.. when you create the project you will not see any picture. To loading the .d2v project into dvd2avi again after creating it.. and use the slider.. I'm sure you'll see the picture. However, your VFAPI installation is either not complete or screwed up. In the codec subdirectory of the vfapi distribution you'll find vifpset.bat. Double click on it to install the codec. If that's not it the problem lies deeper.. can you still create avis (try dvd2avi.. extract a short sequence and watch in windows media player)? If not.. there's some avi registry fixes on my page. Also.. the virtualdub avi proxy may come in conflict with vfapi.. more info about that is in the various guides that use vfapi and the vfp faq.

Thank's for your answer : it's working now. I try now to extract subtitles ... :-(

Could you explain me why in preview mode informations are given on video and audio parts and when I save the .d2v project only audio appears ?
