DC precision of XviD file?

I'm transcoding an XviD file to MPEG2. In one of the Doom9 guides, I read:
The dc precision should match your source.

How do I get to know the DC precision of an XviD file? Does XviD even have DC precision?

It doesn't. DC aren't coded in MPEG4-ASP as in MPEG2. So, in doubt, I'd say use the default setting ( which should be 9, isn't it ? )
