there is a new version of dgpulldown out (1.0.6 final) for those of us that do pal to ntsc conversions

on a rebuilder note, it now has a commandline interface. :) hope this facilitates things for the movie only conversions

yes it is. The tool changes flagging to change fps without touching audio (perfect for rebuilder). All you need is a filter to resize the video

so steps for ntsc to pal would be

1. demux audio and video (rebuilder)
2. resize video to 720x576 and bitrate adjust if necessary (rebuilder)
3. flag 720x576 23.976 stream to 25fps (dgpulldown)
4. remux new pal video and existing audio (rebuilder, but not yet)

it possible to do that the otherway around as well ntsc to pal ? If you mean going from 29.97 to 25.0 fps, you can do that only if the NTSC stream is originally film that is telecined to 29.97. Then you would return it to 23.976 film rate first, and then apply DGPulldown for 23.976 -> 25.0.

Also please consider the large majority of standalones and tv sets, here in pal land, are perfectly able to play ntsc discs. The opposit is not true (I think). So the NTSC --> PAL conversions, apart some very specific case, are not so useful...

I have PAL --> NTSC as one of the items on the "to do" list... but right now I have no plans for NTSC --> PAL conversion.
