View Full Version : Scene selection not possible after *.iso creation

I know, the titel is kind of long, but this is the problem :)

I reencoded a DVD, evrything works fine till here. Now I tried to create a *.iso File out of it with Imgtool classic. It created the iso, but when I test the iso with PowerDVD I can't select a scene from the scene selection menu. If i try he kicks me back to the main menu.

But when I try my reencoded files in PowerDVD all works perfect!!

What could that be??

Hi!

Try playing the .ISO with VLC instead of PowerDVD. Perhaps it's a shortcoming of Power DVD.

I didn't know that PowerDVD was capable of playing .ISOs directly - or are you first mounting the .ISO? (This is NOT necessary with VLC)

Yeah, I mounted it :)

Ok, tested it with VLC and it works. But why doesn't it work with PowerDVD?? Its a bit of mysterious for me!!

As I said, perhaps it's a shortcoming of Power DVD...

I don't know of a different way to say what I've said twice before, perhaps it's a shortcoming of Power DVD.

Have you ever successfully played a MOUNTED DVD, including access to the menus, using Power DVD?

Yes, with some other images it worked!!

I'm sorry, I should be more specific:

Have you ever successfully mounted and played with PowerDVD any DVD .ISO images that you created?

Penecho

Yeah, that's a Yes too.

The only diffrence to the images that worked was, that I stripped the Extras with vobblanker instead of PGCEdit (because when i stripped with PGCedit, he killed also Playback of the main movie).

Then i reencoded with DVD Rebuilder.

Why don't you just burn a DVD and see if it plays in your standalone DVD player (and PowerDVD)?

Is it an ISO for a Double Layer DVD?

Penecho

I just tried to burn the Iso on a DVD and tried it, but this don't work either :(

I tried also to burn the File normally on a DVD (not from the iso File, but from the normal Video_TS Dir) and Manu does not work :(

Only the Files on the Harddisk work

Could you try with PgcEdit's burn function?

Penecho

Only the Files on the Harddisk workPlease clarify - Do you mean that:

1) Playing the DVD files "package" on your hard drive "AS DVD", using Power DVD, you CAN access and use the menu

OR

2) You can play only the individual .VOBs from your hard drive using PowerDVD?

I use the open DVD Data from Harddrive function of PowerDVD, select the Video_TS Folder and evrything works. Menü works, scene selection works. Everything like it should.

I use the open DVD Data from Harddrive function of PowerDVD, select the Video_TS Folder and evrything works. Menü works, scene selection works. Everything like it should. And yet, you are saying that once you burn this DVD file "package" (presumably in proper DVD-Video mode) to a DVD, the burned DVD will NOT play properly on either your standalone DVD player or on your PC, using PowerDVD? Is this correct? Does your standalone DVD player generate an error message?

Does the burned DVD play properly with VLC?
