Help with weird interlacing pattern?

Hi,
trying to backup a dvd (Thai film released on DVD by a HK company). As I understand Thailand has PAL-format and this DVD has been converted to NTSC very odd (as common with a lot of HK discs :(. Tried regular IVTC and also Restore24 (1250, 2997), but got jerky video from that. Is there anything that can be done with it apart from a straight deinterlace?

It's a blended-field conversion. Search for "blended fields".

Such videos are difficult to handle, as you have discovered.
