gretz,all
well i have a new machine from dell ( XP media center edtion)
dvddecrypter 3540 gives me a errror W 18:11:25 Failed to read Sector 3306959 - Logical Block Address out of Range
it has ntfs file system
my old machine did not have this type of problem
but it was fat 32 and i did the disc without errors
please advise on how to get rid of this error
or what i need to do to the new machine
also dvdfab gives a error to fail 4096
is this whole mess a aspi problem?

is this whole mess a aspi problem?No - with WinXP, DVD Decrypter relies on "SPTI" not "ASPI".
That DVD (the entire boxed set of 6 DVDs) do not contain any special/newer copy protection. It's likely either dirty or scratched. Try cleaning it.
Have you tried ripping any of the other DVDs from your purchased boxed set?

the disc i tried is fine no scratches nothing
just the new machine
like stated before i backed it up with my old
machine which had a lite on 166s dvd-rom
and a nec burner model 3500
also dvdfab did not do it either
well please advise

the model of the suspect burner
DELL model of the burner is HL-DT-ST-DVD+ -RW GWA4164B
can anyone tell me who made this model
maybe i could upgrade my firmware

Again, have you tried ripping any of the other DVDs from your purchased boxed set with this burner?

Try using DVD Shrink. If DVD Shrink generates an error, please report the EXACT wording...

the error was failure to read D:\ that was it
but what is funny is it will read the other discs ( disc 2 through 6 )
fine
also on my other machine it does not error out at all
on the same disc
please advise what might be the problem

yes it is PRESSED disc this box set cost me $72.00
at wal-mart
well any clues on why the dell wont do it

i tried loading decrypter on a dell & could not. i finally settled on dvd43
