View Full Version : Syncronising Subtitles

Hi everyone!
I have a bunch of subtitles that I'd like to resync in the following way:
Set the minimum subtitle time to 2sec: if the original time was higher than 2sec, then don't do any modification at all; if it was under 2 sec, then set it to 2 sec (except if the subtitle that comes next doesn't permit it).
I've tried SubRip "Fixed Subtitle Time" set to 2sec and "Minimum Interval Between Two Subtitles" set to 100ms and it does what I need except that if the subtitles are originally longer than 2 sec, SubRip modifies them, and I'd like those to stay with the original duration.
I'm having trouble finding a tool that does this.

Could somebody help me please?:helpful:
Thank you
Kind regards.

Use SubtitleWorkshop.

Or... If you're working directly on the VOB file, DVDSubEdit does exactly what you need.

Thanks both of you for your answers :D

Use SubtitleWorkshop.

Could you tell me exactly what should I do? Because I've already tried with SubtitleWorkshop and couldn't find a way to do it.
Thanks.

You could certainly use the timing tolerance settings in DivXLand Media Subtitler (http://www.divxland.org/subtitler.php) to adjust timing on SRT file load, it's much easier to use than SW after all.

hi! Thanks for your answer. I didn't know about the timing adjusts on DivXLand Media Subtitler...
although, it still doesn't do what I need, which is ser a minimum lenght value for the entire entry (and not just one character).
If somebody knows how to do it...
Thanks
