hi all!
I'm new here, hope not to post silly question...in this 5 days I've watched everywhere to find solution to my problem, but found nothing...
so, I've got a dvd, to which I want to add subtitle.
I've looked and done like in this guide (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ifoedit-dvdauthor.htm), and everything went ok! I'd suceed to add subititle to the single movie.
But, my dvd has got also some extras, which I'd like to keep..and, really, I went in tons of mess when i tried to put the extra on my subtitled film, and i didn't suceed...
so, what can I do? thanks for the help!

Hi and welcome to the forum.
This post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=772363#post772363) may be of help to you :)
BTW, the guide you're mentioning is somewhat outdated. You may want to use the method described in this post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=764038#post764038) (there's also a nice and more detailed guide included in the SubtitleCreator archive)

thanx a lot for the reply!
I've found very useful this guide (http://www.videohelp.com/~jsoto/guides/VobBlanker/adding_menus/), and I really thought I've solved my painful problems!
but (point 8), when I opened the VTS_01_0.ifo of the "subtitled film by me", it gives me an error message saying "Unable to open VOB file"
any suggestions?
note: burning only the "subtitled film by me" it works, so really don't udnerstand why VOBBlanker has got problem to open it!
EDIT: waiting for some answers, I tried to reauthor the files , with IFOEdit, and, YEAH!, replacing them in VOBBlanker, it works!
BUT, unfortunately there's always a "but", the subtitles don't display!!!!! ARGH! on both my standalone players!
insetad, opening the reauthored& replaced dvd with VLC, I can see them!
opening with win media player, no subtitles...
where could be the problem?
please, don't leave me alone so close to the end of my pains! :(

I GOT THE SOLUTION!!! :D
here (http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=275603&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=) in particulary, all the page that explain everything!
Lot of things already said, but this page has the solution to my last problems, taking back the new subtitled film in the old structure, so to keep all extra, menus etcetc
in particular, in that page, I used not the point 9 posted by the author (editing the Ifo via IfoEdit) but I used the solution of one of the user on the bottom (mystiqq). I copy back here , in case somone in the future has the same problem!! I'm so happy!! :)
Step 9, using PGCedit.
You can do the step 9 also inside PGCedit, also its little bit easier i think. I added new subtitle, and in my case PGCedit did work for me and result was identical IFO file to the one done by using IFOedit.
Heres what i did:
Load the "reauthored" DVD into PGCedit (im using version 0.6.0). In my case, i was editing one title on a episodic DVD disc. Find the title you added the subtitles to, mine was title number 1. Select it from the list on the left and right click to open the menu, choose "Edit PGC" to open the PGC editor.
In the editor, go the top-right side of the window (sub-pictures streams box) and find the slot where you added the new subtitle, in my case i already had 2 subtitles before so the new one was added in the 3rd slot in the list. Press the the button to open the “subpic streams setup” window for selected slot. Here i choose the exact same as all the previous subtitles before it had, 4:3 and and stream number set to 2. Press Set button to set the current setup and then press OK in the PGC editor window.
Next go to the Macros (top) and then select the “fix number of streams inVMGM/VTSI_MAT tables” located on the bottom of the menu. Next window should be “verify the number of streams” and if everything looks ok, press YES.
Now, go back to the same title and open the PGC editor again. Now press the “Current domain streams attributes” button in the bottom-left corner. You should have now “streams attributes” window open and the new added subtitle, in my case subpic number 2, empty. Add the correct “country code” for that subtitle (en for “english” and so on) and press OK.
Now you should have the exact same result of the IFO file(s) as you would by using IFOedit program.
