Ive encoded a 128kbps CBR Nero AAC file of fight club.

Video using X264 in PD-ipod.

I try to Mux them in MeGui to MP4 and get this error. I cant figure out what i have done wrong.

I can mux a FAAC VBR file successfully to MP4, but quicktime then wont recognise the audio, just video.

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

smells very much like this error (http://forum.gleitz.info/showthread.php?t=26746)

the error there was that besweet didnt encode with aac to .mp4 but to .mp3 which confused mp4box because of the wrong extension
check if your "mp4" isnt actually a mp3 (also post the besweet logs)

the solution was to upgrade to BeSweet v1.5b31 and get all the needed aac encoder files (faac aso...)

I just wanted to add to this, because this had me going nuts for several hours. Nero AAC outputs an .mp4 file, not an .aac file, so do not try to write to an .aac extension and mux it with an .mp4 video file with mp4box, since it either gives a strange muxing that won't play and not give an error at all, or will give a "BitStream Not Compliant" error. Outputting to an .mp4 extension makes mp4box happy.
