I want to us MeGUI to convert xvid avi to ipod format, but i found the audio source only support audio format, so i must demux audio from avi.
then I found the function in new version MeGUI which support AviSynth-based audio, I want to know can i use this function to read audio from avi files directly, if so, please tell me how, thx.

Yes, you can use avi as an audio source, as long as the file is playable in a DirectShow player (like media player classic, windows media player, etc). Just open the avi file by selecting the 'All files' filter in the audio input dialog in MeGUI.
Consult the MeGUI Guide (sticky) for extra programs that might be needed.

I have tried that, but i got the alert message when i click audio queue button.
Unsupported audio configuration:Audio input/output types are incompatiable
This alert doesn't show everytime, if i config button first and didn't change anything then click ok, the alert will disppear. but even i can add the queue use this little trick, i still got error when starting the job.
Starting job job1 at 18:32:54
Job is an audio job. Commandline:
-core( -input "E:\-=GaoDi=-\sample-transporter.2.ws.dvdrip.xvid-crntv.avi" -output "E:\-=GaoDi=-\sample-transporter.2.ws.dvdrip.xvid-crntv.mp4" -logfile "E:\-=GaoDi=-\sample-transporter.2.ws.dvdrip.xvid-crntv.besweet.log" ) -dimzon( -dllname bse_FAAC.dll -q 100 ) -ota( -g max )
calling setup failed
i didn't set use besweet in the confirg, all are default.

It could be that you have to check "Force decoding via direct show" in the audio configuration (if you haven't already done so).

one thing i want to confirm, if i use avi as audio source, which method does MeGUI use to encode for audio, avisynth or besweet?

Avi as audio source does only work with the avisynth encoding method. You have to make sure that in the audio configuration avisynth is selected as encoding method.
