I've got an HDTV capture that I can't get smooth video out of (not a playback problem) I've tried force film in dgindex, Telecide, Kerneldeint and leaving it interlaced, all of which produce stuttering video. Some of the frames are pure progressive, so I'm assuming that its telecined. The only way I can get it to play back smoothly is by using my capture cards aplication which plays it perfectly. Let me reiterate, I having no trouble playing it back in real time (before or after processing).

Hi-
It's evidently some sort of a PAL conversion to NTSC, but the dupes, instead of being evenly spaced every 6 frames, alternate between 5 and 7 frames apart. First make the D2V with Honor Pulldown Flags.
There are several ways to do it, I would guess, but when trying other IVTCs I always got a dupe or 2 left over, and a skipped frame or 2. I didn't bother tweaking, as I found an easier way using SmartDecimate:
B=TDeint(Mode=1)#or LeakKernelBob
SmartDecimate(25,60,B)

Well I tried your script with a dgindex filemade with "force film" because that was the closes thing I could find to "Honor Pulldown Flags" and the output wasn't anygood, so I tried without force film, and that didn't work either, where is the honor pulldown flags option?

"Force film" is just the opposite of "Honor Pulldown Flags". The option is under the field operation option of the video menu. What version of DGIndex are you using?

Evidently a very out of date one.

Hi-
...so I tried without force film, and that didn't work either...
The older versions said something like "No Field Operation", and gave you the same thing as does "Honor Pulldown Flags". SmartDecimate should work for that sample clip if you make a 29.97fps D2V. Using that SmartDecimate script you get 24.975fps output. After you open the .avs in VDubMod to test, go File->File Information to make sure that's the framerate you have.
I'm not saying that Decomb or TIVTC won't work with your sample, but just that they didn't work well right off the bat, and I didn't feel like tweaking them when SmartDecimate worked so easily.
Edit: I see you posted while I was writing. I only saw the sample, and it worked perfectly on it. I can't say how it does on the complete video.
