hi
i've finaly finished to do a dvd where i added subs.
after demuxing and remuxing adding subs with ifoedit i burned the dvd...but doesn't play.
it works fine when i open the files from the hd but when burned nothing even with the pc, i use powerdvd.
any ideas ?
the media seems ok, no scratchs at all.

Open the burned DVD in PGCEdit, cancel the warning about the backup folder.
Does it have a VMG, First-Play PGC entry that jumps to a menu or a Title? I would think it needs that info for the player to know what to do when you insert the DVD.

yep it has one why des it work from hd and not from disc with the same software ???
so how can i fix it ?
i set instead of the command a new one which is jump to title 1 chapter 1 but doesn't work, which software can tell me if it will work since powerdvd run it even with the error ?
edit i think i got the answer, the chapters time were wrong because i removed a part from the beginning of the dvd, trailers, so i guess it didn't understand to go to a chapter that din't exist.
i did not burn yet but it play in ifoedit player so i think it means it's gonna work no ?

If it's a DVD5 then it's wise to burn on a ReWritable DVD first and test!
Any edits need to be reflected in the flow of the DVD structure, you can see in PGCEdit where the flow goes in the VMG, First-Play PGC, this points to the start of the DVD, if it points to a blank PGC then nothing happens so you may have to edit it to point to the correct PGC where you want playback to start!

well i have a problem for sure.
i do the trace mode in pgcedit and i have the run button that turns red saying break.
so now how can i now where the problem is and of course how to fix it.
i guess the problem comes from the first play pgc in the video_ts.

When you edit the button, does it say:
[200100000000000D]
LinkTailPGC
on the button, it says this on the two buttons on my menu I made? This is needed I believe so the button works when pressed. Also, do you have any Post Commands that tell you what happens when the button is pressed?
I made a DVD with DVDRemake that merged 2 DVD's to 1 DVD and created a 2 button menu so I could select each disc. I exported the menu in PGCEdit so when I made my new menu I still had the correct menu commands to import back. Sounds like you haven't defined any buttons/playback commands.
Is this DVD just a single film that needs to playback when the disc is inserted or do you need a menu for other stuff on the DVD?
