View Full Version : Adding subtitles to DVD *EASY WAY*?

How can that be done easily without using a zillion of different utilities? All I want is to add 1 subtitle, which is in .srt format. Bring it up, preferably using one application, and without many complications, just something to get the job done in a user-friendly way...
Thanks for any help. You may refer me to a guide, but again - preferably using one application.

DVDLab Pro is probably the tool you're looking for...
Alternatively you could try the wizard in SubtitleCreator's "Tools" menu.

Thanks a lot CoNS!
I'm trying now using SubtitleCreator, and it is taking too much time (about 7 hours)! Should it be that long for just inserting a subtitle? It's just about muxing it within, without ripping out the whole DVD... And I don't know yet how's it's going to look like. Any recommendations?

Unfortunately, it's a very time consuming process. You have to separate the audio, video and subtitle streams (demux). Create new bitmap subtitles. And put it all back together (mux/author). The time consuming part is reading and writing those large amounts of data to and from HDD...
The latest version of MuxMan (not freeware) has an intergrated demultiplexer. Apparently, this makes it possible to author/mux a DVD without a separate demuxing process first. This would save you some time and HDD space!

Yeah, Thanks.
I'm actually looking for some application, which makes it easier, so I don't have to be confused working with all those separate programs, just to make a fairly simple task done. Is there any other goodish software, a set of those, which can make it easier within a few clicks, and not too much trouble, even if it takes time and HDD space...?
I tried with SubtitleCreator, but after 50% or so, it returned with some error...
:thanks:

DVDLab Pro... :)
Almost works fine, but for some reason it did it for only the first part of the movie (the first .vob file?). Is it possible with some other software to mux it all, when I have the video, audio files, and .sub files for subtitles? Another thing I added a subtitle, but it didn't put the old ones in the DVD compilation.
