I decided to put this in a thread of it's own this time around. Otherwise it gets lost among the multitude of other postings in the various flavors of MPC threads.
It's been at least 2 years since I requested this feature (I believe MPC has been going that long now or longer).
Yet this feature that is already part of Zoom Player is STILL not implemented in MPC either as default behaviour or a tickable option.
I output to a widescreen TV that I leave in widescreen mode because nearly all material braodcast on UK TV now (At least the major channels) is in 16:9 mode or if not sent as framed 14:9 or 4:3. I also have no means to auto switching to widescreen mode on the S-Video output from my video card. Thus I leave the TV in widescreen mode rather than have to manually switch all the time. I therefore output 4:3 material in 16:9 mode to make my own framed 4:3 video on the TV.
MPC does not save my selection of outputing in 16:9 anamorphic mode upon exit and restart. It also cuts the top and bottom of a 4:3 ratio video in the main MPC window.
Hoping this year it gets noticed and 'fixed'.
