Just FYI:
The version of Osmo4 inside the current development build of GPAC (GPAC Framework 0.4.1 Setup.exe) dated Jan 06, 2006, which was compiled by Celtic Druid, cannot play MPEG-4 audio (in *.mov, *.mp4 or *.m4a files at least). I'm pointing this out mainly because there is a link to the download page (http://www.aziendeassociate.it/cd.asp?dir=/gpac/dev) for this build from Doom9's MP4 Guide (http://www.doom9.org/mp4.htm) (in order to get MP4Box) and it isn't obvious (at least it wasn't to me) that this is only a development build. (I assumed I had a new production build and there was something else wrong with my system that caused the failure of Osmo4 to play the mp4 audio.) BTW, MPC and other players could play the audio, but couldn't play some of the advanced video that Osmo4 could play.
It turns out the Celtic Druid's production builds are here (http://www.aziendeassociate.it/cd.asp?dir=/gpac/) (including MP4Box), and can be reached from here (http://celticdruid.no-ip.com/xvid/). The version of Osmo4 inside GPAC Framework 0.4.0 Setup.exe (the latest production build) is able to play MPEG-4 audio. I haven’t tried the other development builds, and don’t know if the problem with the development build results from a bug in the source code or a problem with the make.
While I’m at it, thanks for the compiles. I’m happy with the production build, now that I know it exists. :D
