well I am a goof....I got rid of those....all I have is posted. But here is what happened. I ripped as files via DVDDecryptor to HD and ran NuMenu...crashed. However, if I rip as ISO or use AnyDVD on the fly all ok. Is file mode not good? Should be ISO mounted?

shouldn't make any difference. I would be interested if you could do this:

enable logfile in settings.
run as an iso/anydvd and save the logfile as iso.numenu4u.log
run from a folder and save the logfile as folder.numenu4u.log (upto the crash anyway)

send both to me - so i can compare the logfiles.

that would be great.

I will try to do this today and send to you...am at work now

one other thing...if I put in an unprotected dvd and uncheck use DVD decryptor, the prog still calls DVD decryptor...should it not just copy the files from dvd instead of invoking DVDd?

i thought it did :D

ok...tried 3 diff. dvd originals...no pre-processing. All failed. However, I decided to try on my wife's laptop...they all worked!!! So I uninstalled on my machine and reinstalled....all ok not...must have been a bad install.

HOWEVER,

I can confirm that on the laptop a DVD with no CSS and the option for DVD Decryptor use UNCHECKED NuMenu still invokes DVD Decryptor, which it should not.

AND, the .bat command does not work for long directory names. I had a rip in C:\Video Authoring and the .bat command said file not found. If I edit the directory to C:\VA and then edit the .bat command to point to C:\VA all is ok. So maybe you could add a check in the interface for long names or a warning. I gather you are trying to be safe by using FAT32 restrictions?

thanks

i think i misunderstood the dvddec thing. If you are ripping from a DVD or from an iso, then dvddec will always be called for demuxing. If you are ripping from a folder then PGCDemux will be used instead.

The option to turn off dvddec is in regard to the final copying options (ie copying the unprocessed files as required).

fair enough...what about the directory name thing for the .bat file?

the .bat works fine on my machine even on a folder with spaces in it.

Any progress on the problem described in the first post of this thread?

I never received any files to test with - so no nothing has happened.
