Maybe I should have posted this in the newbie forum, but I thought it would get more attention from knowledgabel people here. :)

I just started tinkering with Gordian Knot and I happened to get myself all confused. I was under the impression that I could use GK to rip some TV episodes from a DVD to DivX files on my HD. Following the guides stickied here I dont understand how this is supposed to work since it tells me to look for a .d2v file.

I use DVD-RB to do my backups and I know that after phase 1 a bunch of
.d2v files are created in a temp folder. Should I run my DVDs through Rebuilder and then move them on to GK or what?

Thanks in advance for putting up with my noob-ass and any help you can offer.:stupid:

Use DVD2AVI (DGIndex) on the VOB files.
This will give you your .d2v file that you can then load into Gordian Knot.

When you first open Gordian Knot, click the Ripping tab - there's a summary of the instructions (which are detailed in the guide).

Awesome. Thanks for all the help guys. It's people like you that make Doom9 the best video editing community out there. Thanks for being patient with me and remembering that even the easiest task can be confusing the first time around.

Normally I dont get so flustered, but I can barely remember using any app with this many sub menus and options. :o
