Hi, I encoded a dvd to mkv format with the AC3 track. For some reason my sound is off by a sec. I would like to extract the video part so I can try to remerge my AC3 track. I downloaded mkvextract but not sure what I have to enter at the commandline to extract the video.
I have the following in the file.
Track ID 1: video (V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC)
Track ID 2: audio (A_AC3)

Try the GUI (http://corecodec.org/projects/mkvextractgui/) :D

I downloaded it but how do I know what to extract the video to. I extracted to a file called Track1.mkv but if I try to play the video file I don't get any video. Am I supposed to??

I think it should extract AVC to a raw stream, or at least the file I just tried it on did. You'll probably have to remux to mp4 then remux that into mkv.

How exactly do I do that? When I bring the file into MDVExtractGui I have a video file and an AC3 file. If I highlight the video file and click extract it doesn't prompt me as to what to extract the file to. It just selects Track1 as the output file.

Rename it to track1.264, load into YAMB or your prefered mp4box GUI making sure you specify the correct framerate then mux to mp4. It just also occured to me you could load the first mkv into mkvmerge then specify the correct audio delay then remux to a 2nd mkv.

How would I know the correct audio delay. My extracted AC3 has 0s delay in the title name however if I look in the Stream Information file that DVDDecrypter outputs it also contains 0s delay
0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 3879 / PTS: 00:00:00.280 / Delay: 0ms
I guess I'll have to play around to find out the delay. I've never had a problem with encodes being out of synch. I'm playing around with FlightPlan and it seems like the only one having this problem.

To add delay, simply load the MKV in mmg.exe, specify a delay for the audio track and mux a new MKV from it.

Okay I managed to remerge the AC3 track with the video with a delay. Took about 5 or so remerges to get the audio in synch to where it's watchable.
It appears FlightPlan has ripguard protection or something along the line.
Thanks

DigitalDivide> I have the same problem with 8mm 2. After demuxing, the A/V was out of synch. It has a SONY ARCCOS copy protection.
