In the past, i have already used this method. Now I come back to encode DVD and I have chosen to use again this method, but I have the problem. The major one is that I found that it takes only 2 hours & I remember that it was longer about 8 hours (I have still the same computer). It's very stange.
In the attached file, you can see what is the result in term of folders. Where normaly is the final result of compression.

Your explanations are the welcome

the highlighted folder isn't the one the contains the encoded files but the untouched files that are cpoied over from the dvd

In this folder I have
- each VTS_0x_0 .bup, .ifo, .vob x=[1,2,3,4]
- VIDEO_TS .bup, .ifo, .vob
- VTS_0y_1 .bup, .ifo, .vob y=[2,3]

For me it's OK It coresponds to the VTS which are under the Min threshold to demux (consequently unchecked in DVD structure)

Now, the problem I have is to find the rest of the dvd which is normally reencoded. It is assumed bu VTS 01 et VTS 04 : we can verify it by the presence of the two folders VTS01-VTS04. Contain of VTS01 folder is able in the attached file.

Normaly I should find the final reencoded file in the VIDEO_TS of the Batch_1 folder (Batch_1/0/VIDEO_TS). All file sizes of this folder are less than 1MB.

Is there an error in the options put in the different softwares used in conversion ?
Tell me if you would like more details for some folders.

Thanks

there doesn't seem to be anything reencoded. Did you check use original assets in scenaid?

As it is mentionned in the Big 3 guide, I have unchecked "Use Original Assets" option.

i had a similar problem once. There were no mpvs after running scenaid+batchcce. I had to use killaudio() in my script to get the source properly encoded.

What must I conclude in reading your answer :

- is there an errror in the Big 3 Method guide ?
- are we obliged to use this additional software ? When in the different steps shall I use killaudio ?

I think it will be interesting in waiting new answers to initial issue

- is there an errror in the Big 3 Method guide ? no ... occasional problems do come up every now and then with unusually authored dvds that can require additional steps to complete
- are we obliged to use this additional software ? When in the different steps shall I use killaudio ?there is no additional software required. simply open your .avs files in notepad, and add:
killaudio()
to the end of the script.
then open scenaid and proceed as usual.

out of interest, can you please explain your workflow - dif4u > scenaid > batchcce? or something else?

have you tried manually opening the scenaid ccedata file in batchcce and manually using it to re-encode the video?

I will check

Some sources are problematic and require some tweaking. I always use killaudio(), but that's certainly not a necessity. I thought it just might be useful to try in your situation.

if you are using a newer version of scenaid, the encoded assets are in a ScenAid subfolder

VTS01\ScenAid for example.. however, i'm not really sure where your problem is, you saying it's not actually encoding? Is it encoding but not authoring? You using the VIP version?

Sly01

I don't use any VIP version
I have updated my user signature to quote the software version I use
What is the difference beetween encoding & authoring ? For the process hasn't encoded the main part of the dvd. Normally It takes at least 8 hours and for my case it just took one hour !!!

well ... if you read this sticky:
BatchCCEWS 0.9.1.6 beta 1 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=95982) it should be self evident that latest version is in fact a beta :p
