Scenario.
I have a DVD with 1 Title and 5 Chapters inside this Title of cause. Is it possible that each chapter has a other number of angles?
Lets say the first chapter has 3 angles and the second 1.
Or is it recommended that all chapters inside a title has the same numbers of angles?

Chapters and angles are not related in any way. A chapter can start at any point in the timeline where the video has a GOP, regardless of the number of angles active at that point. The number of angles can also change during the playing of the chapter - they are not related.

I know but you cant have
e.g.
impossible
cell1 - 3 angles
cell2 - 1 angle
cell3 - 1 angle
cell4 - 2 angles
cell5 - 4 angles
....
possible
cell1 - 3 angles
cell2 - 1 angle
cell3 - 1 angle
cell4 - 3 angles
cell5 - 3 angles
....
I think this is what mouquai asked for.
Am I right?

Actually the first set of angles is possible, but not seamlessly. But I believe the original question was if all chapters had to have the same number of angles, and the answer is no.

The background of my question is a simple query.
How many angles has a title? Then I want to create a list and for implementing browsing.
But now i'm not sure if a title itselfs has always the same number of angles. I only match them on titles right now- maybe chapters now caused by our view.
Thats why i'am asking.
Mpucoder - your right, thanks a lot.

The TT_SRPT table in VIDEO_TS.IFO will give you the maximum number of angles for each title.

And I have to amend my answer to bigotti5. That combination can be achieved seamlessly, although the final product will appear to have 4 angles. The trick is that one VOB can belong to more than one angle, so for your first cell one of the three VOBs would belong to 2 angles. Playback would be seamless if it is all linked properly. The problem is Scenarist and others cannot do this.

Ok but only the maximum number - this works fine. But now i know that also a chapter inside a title could have more or less titles than another chapter inside.

Yes, but you must stop thinking that chapters and angles are related. A chapter can start at a point with only the main video, and then branch out into angles and return to the main video within the chapter. Or it may start with angles and end with main only, or the other way around. The two concepts are not related at all.

But this would be possible by manualy hacking the ifo, right? Like "blanking out" dummy audio streams, just the other way around (adding one extra angle). (of course scenarist wont mux in the first place, but oh well)

Well, the PGC has to list each cell block properly. But the biggest part is the linkages in either DSI for seamless or PCI for non-seamless - both are part of the NavPak. This allows the playback logic to follow the correct path for whichever angle is selected into SPRM3.
