Getting help:

First of all, look at the "Common problems" section on my site, many problems can be addressed with the info contained in this page.
If you are totally lost, look at the "Guides" section, always on my site.

If you think you have a problem not already reported, please post in this thread.
Detailed infos are needed in order to replicate the problem.
This means software used (with exact version number) and infos about the video/audio and encoding parameters.
You can also use rapidshare.de to upload clips that show the problem (of course make sure no copyright infringement when doing this).
Use this rule: if making the report takes less then 10 minutes, you are probably going to do a not complete/useful report.

What happen when the psp is not able to handle decoding in realtime:

I've uploaded a clip showing what happen when the psp is not able to handle decoding in realtime:
http://rapidshare.de/files/10471957/Spiderman_2_Trailer_Heavy.pmp.html
(the clip is encoded at quant 1)
It shows how the audio skips on this situation.

Random notes:

The player should be reasonably stable and fast (it's totally rewritten, i'm using only libavcodec as external library).
Basic functions like pause and seek are implemented (the only basic stuff missing is the zoom function for low resolution encodes).
Video and audio will never desync, but if a scene is too power demanding, you'll notice audio jumping.
Battery consumption is around 40% for a 2 hours movie.

Thanks to everyone helping!

There is nothing in your guide that guarantee 1-quality 2-no stuttering 3-size control over the final encode. What you claim the best is no more than a noob guide.

PS: it's not nice to post a message containing only a link, can you explain me what is the sense of this?

1) 1st line on my guide says IMHO which means In My Humble Opinion. For me (and it seems for others who commented on the guide) the quality is as good as I can get it (currently).

2) I had no stutterings at all with my way of doin' it, so I keep on doin' it that way. If you have problems, use your way... I'm just sharing my expiriences with others. If you feel yourself a pro or something, use the way you want, nobody dictates you the way to do it.

3) I don't care about the size and guide is about quality, not size... People asked in comments how to make output files smaller, I've answered them how to archive that. "Smart" people like yourself can archive it themselves (or read this (http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_MEncoder_Tips_and_Tricks#Generating_AVIs_with_fixed_output_size_.282-pass_encoding.29) or google (http://www.google.com/) or RTFM (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/man/en/mplayer.1.html))... My idea was to make it as simple as it can gets and help other "noobs".

MaxT-

I am reminding you that jonny opened this thread to make people aware of his PSP apps, and to solicit feedback and encoding, muxing, and playback questions. This thread is not about your guide to his app, useful though it may be. jonny has a long history at this site and has developed a number of very useful applications used by many Doom9 members.

Please make sure that any posts you make in this thread are about the player, and/or encoding and muxing for the player. Please reread the rules and make sure that you stay within them:

http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm

I might point you particularly to rules 3, 4, 5, 11, and 16. Thank you.
