Time to back up my old VHS Cassetes to DVD
I play the film and then record it onto a dvd-rw
Got it onto my pc and sound was ok but when burned with nero sound is out of synch
How can I prevent this
What is the best software for extracting it from the dvd-rw onto my pc ?
Cant remember what I used but it was a massive file ?
Would It be better if I convert it to divx
Any Help much appreciated
Cheers:D

You need to give us more information. How did you make the DVD-rw. Was it recorded on a DVD recorder or did you capture, encode and author it? Tell us the make of the recorder and what type of files it generated or the names of the capture, encoding and authoring problems, and capture card. Also I recommend you change the title of the thread to describe your problem better. e.g. Recorded DVD out-of sync after Nero burn.

ok
Played the VCR and recorded it using DVD Pioneer 220 using a dvd-rw
via the tv Finalised the disc
Dont know what files where there as recorded over it
Extracted it to PC and it came out as vts_01.0001 type movie clip
Plays ok on PC but when burned goes out of synch uisng latest version of Nero
onto dvd-r

hmm. if it's a valid DVD structure, and you just want to get it off the RW (so you can use it again i guess), why not just rip an iso image of the disc with DVDdecrypter and burn to a DVD-R with the same program. if nero is buggering up the sync, then best not to use it :).
try the RW in a standalone DVD player. if it plays, then the disc is valid DVD (some aren't - especially when you record in VR mode or don't finalise).
i don't see why you can't just rip and burn.

What is the best way of doing this ? By creating an ISO image from the DVD-RW

Instead of breaking rule 12 a second time in the sssamew thread, try it and see if it works. No one can answer "what's best" because it may not be what's best for you. Mug Funky has already given you a viable option. Check back after you try it.
